The Brief: With a dated, unloved garden that wrapped around the property, the clients wanted a garden design to really make the most of the space they had, to improve views from the house and to have a smart garden with good planting for the keen florist in the family.
The Solution: The garden design aimed to create generous, useable spaces with a more contemporary feel. The existing patio was replaced by a more elegant sawn stone terrace on different levels which give way to a larger lawn area. We gained permission to remove a large Lleylandii that was blocking light into the garden, while new trees offer more attractive screening where needed. The shady side of the house was transformed into an attractive woodland walk with a curvy path leading to the new garden studio. The planting scheme provides plenty of contrasting foliage as well as flowers for floral arrangements.
