Crouch End Garden
The Brief: The clients had lived in their Edwardian property for forty years and had recently added a new raised terrace as part of renovations to the house. The clients wanted help to redesign the sloping garden to make it work better with the house and make it a tidier, peaceful space that they could enjoy with children and grandchildren.
The Solution: The design aimed to make the most of the space and create a conducive garden in the cottagey style the clients liked. An important part of the design was to rationalise the various levels around the house and better integrate the existing terrace. It also included dedicated work and storage areas so that the main garden could be enjoyed without too much clutter on view. The new design included an oval lawn and a new seating area at the bottom of the garden where it caught the sun. A curvy sett path and a generous planting scheme linked the areas together.
