Jenny Bloom Garden Design
Chill Out Garden, London E8
The Brief: These clients had recently moved into their London Fields property and inherited a sizeable but unloved garden with tired concrete paving and overgrown shrubs and ivy. With busy working lives, the clients wanted a garden that they could relax and entertain in.
The Solution: The new garden design opens up the space with clean lines and pleasing proportions - and makes the most of the garden’s west-facing aspect. The existing deck is cleaned up and raised beds made from new timber sleepers help link it with the lower level of the garden. Here a slate patio provides a ‘lounge area’ with space for the barbecue and is surrounded by attractive contemporary planting with views to the garden beyond. With a relatively small area of lawn and little time for maintenance, a good quality artificial lawn was the perfect solution for these clients.
